I don't know what happened but after i installed partition magic 8 for my
windows vista and entered the program, partition magic asked me to fix a
couple of errors and i just pressed yes, and when it was done fixing them it
didn't enter to the program giving me this error "Partition's drive letter
cannot be identified", and as soon as i pressed ok, the windows suddenly
showed a blue error screen and restarted...for my surpirse partition D was
lost (i have 3 partitions) and now i only have partitions C and S...i did a
system restore but it didn't work for some reason:S...
so what shall i do???

I didn't think that partition magic supported vista . But you may want to
get a copy of paragon partition manager. I think it has some utilities for
recovery. As well you can try Vista pattition manager under Control Panel
Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Storage > Disk Management.

Actually i did before you even told me to, i can see the 50GB that the
partition D was taking, but i can't see any D partiotion...i press right
click and then try to go to properties or anything but an error occurs that
says:" The operation failed to complete because the Disk management console
view is not up-to-date. Refresh. If the problem persist, then restart Disk
Management or the computer". even after i restart the problem persist!...
how can i get a copy of paragon partition manager????
thanx

It does not, according to Norton's web site.

Acronis Disk Director does as do many other applications.

mistake that i used it...

I wish I could offer some help but I can't, I'm sorry.

This won't help at all but the last time Partition Magic messed up my
hard drive I lost EVERYTHING! ALL my partitions, everything. I had to
reformat, re-partition and install Windows XP (it was a few years back)
from scratch and begin rebuilding, it took a very long time. I hope
you have sufficient backups to ease the task, I didn't. I had enough
backup to restore most but some of is gone forever.

I got a removable hard drive and imaging software, once is enough!

[bunch of crappy spelling and grammar deleted]
hope it helps :)

I think the person with the problem and who posted about it IN JANUARY
OF 2008 has fixed it by now.
