Lost Document can I still find it?

I was writting an essay for a school project using the Office.org writer that came with my computer. The program froze and a message that read "program not responding" came up. I couldn't do anything with the document except close it. I was not able to save four pages of work before this happened. Is there anyway of retrieving the document or is it just lost and I have to start over. Does anyone have a small miracle in their pocket?

Open Office? Small miracle to find anyone with much experience with it.
However, from Start/Search, enter the search string: ~ and review what
is found. Many programs will store a working copy of a doc with the ~
as the first character of the name. If the document was not ever
saved, the prospects are grim that anything relevant will be found.
Your best bet with the search results are to try opening from withing
Open Office any result you find from about the time of the crash.
