I have lost my Windows XP Installation disc I have the
code and the other stuff but I have lost the CD (I think
one of my "mates" stole it) is there any way I canget aa
new one buecause I need to reinstall after I have a Power
Spike (Surge) and it destroyed my Motherboard and
Harddrive which cost me £597 to get a new maxtor double
layer 120GB hard drive and a Amdathalon proccessor and
motherboard so I don't have enough money to get a new disc

If your old Hard Drive is not Duff, then your vendor
should have helped you out mabe by ghosting the image of
your old hard drive onto your new maxtor double layer
120GB hard drive. If you still have the old drive you
could try just booting from that in safe mode to see if
the drive still works.

Otherwise if you indeed own the original Retail Boxed
version of Windows XP then for a small fee you could
apply to Microsoft (in your local area) to purchase a new
one (not all expensive) But if you have an OEM product
(one bought from a reseller, with their branding and
logo's on) then you should apply to your vendor for a
replacement disc (usually a small fee)

My advice, change your mates!

oh yeah, get a surge protector too, (make sure it's one
that covers your telephone line, if your using a modem!)
