Lost Dial-up Internet Connect After Installing Serivce Pack 2

Installed SP2 on a Dell Inspiron (XP Home) and can connect via NIC and cable
modem but am unsuccessful in connecting by dial-up. Went through
troubleshooting routines with local ISP but nothing was resolved. Contacted
Dell but none of their tips has worked.

Has anyone else had this problem and what was the step-by-step solution?

Same probleam, I put SP2 on my laptop and my connection is there, but
Internet Explorer is not functional, it begins to load pages slowly, then
comes to an abrupt halt, where i cannot view anything on the net. The
"solutions" on this site did nothing. I could easily revert back to SP1, but
i mean i'll be missing out on whatever benefits SP2 provides.
