Recently joined a workgroup box to the Doman, Re created a domain account with the same name and password as the local box account. When Logged out and logged back into local system. The desktop and all personalizations did not comeback up. They exist still on the original users local profile . Outlook also is not functioning well ( Duh) the PST file is in the orginal non domain profile under documents and settings. is there anyway of getting the domain and local Profiles to co exist.

If the PC is Windows 2000 (also should work on XP), you can copy the local
profile to the domain user profile.
Login as a totally separate administrator account and do the following:

1. Right click My computer
2. Select properties
3. Select User Profiles Tab
4. Highlight the desired local user profile
5. Click Copy to
6. Browse to the profile folder of the domain account
7. Under permitted to use, change the account to the domain account.
8. Click OK twice.

This should accomplish it. . .

You could possibly try scripting something to accomplish what you want for
all 3200 users. Maybe post something on the scripting newsgroup about how
to do that?

AHA!!!! I knew you would say that

And that does work , however I have a 3200 user environment here and that
would mean a desktop visit to each an every one , is there not an easier
way?
Pondering idea of using sledge hammer in an attempt to force thw profiles
to work, if not I could try Dynamite.
