lost contacts, when i replace them, can't put in email

I had lost 3/4 of my contacts, but not all of them. When I went back in and
manually put them back, it wouldn't let me get the email addresses back on
their address cards, but they are still in my address book.

Outlook does not have an address book. It keeps all addresses in the Contacts
folder. Outlook's "address book" is just a view of your Contacts folder. If
the addresses appear in the address book, they must, by definition, be in the
Contacts folder.
