lost contacts.pst file

We upgraded a computer from Windows XP home to XP Pro..this disabled MS Office XP..we reinstalled MS Office and appartently it overwrote the contacts.pst file and we have lost the data...this data base is huge and we are just sick about it.

Does anyone know how to retrieve this lost data base?
 
Your backup?
Other than that search for *.pst, to include hidden files.
