lost contacts after windows upgrade

Recently upgraded home pc to windows 2000. I seem to have "lost" all my contacts on outlook. I hope they are hidden somewhere still on my drive but have not been able to find them. Anyone have any ideas how i can retrieve all this important info? I thought the upgrade would transfer the info/not affect it. No one warned me i might lose it. : (
 
You need to post your Outlook version. While you're at it, tell us more
about this upgrade. Did you upgrade only the OS? I so, what happened the
first time you opened Outlook?
