after writing a coouple of CDs my computer stops
reading the CDs sometimes it's the writer but usually the
CD ROM sometimes both. Both are still showing in my
computer and Explorer. rebooting the machine does nothing
but closing down for a few hours cures the problem,
lettin me copy another coouple of CDs. Now the CD
ROM refuses to read CDS altogheethre alough it is still
showing as above. this happens on 2 commputers one
running Windows 98 and one XP. Can anyone show any light

Check your internal cables and make sure they are not
loose. Try unplugging and then reseating them. They may
have worked loose.

Hi;

Suspect HEAT buildUp as turning OFF for some minutes allows you to burn
more.
Burning CDs generates a lot of calories.

I leave an empty "dock" under (always) and above (when at all possible)
burners and use all of >8< screws to establish full and firm contact with
metal casing to dissipate heat fast and efficiently.

Check all screws are tight.

A specialized front blower for CD Drives/Hard Disk Drives is added when the
problem persists in tight "boxes".
