I just loaded Win2K Pro SP4 and after the reboot I have no
CD drives. Using the troubleshooter I uninstalled the
drives, rebooted, plug and play found the drives and said
they were installed. Wrong - device manager gives error 19
(problem with registry for these drives). How can I get my
drives back without reloading Win2K?

System:
ASUS A7N8X Deluxe
Latest Bios installed (prior to W2k SP4 install).
Maxtor 120G SATA
Maxtor 120G PATA (Primary IDE Master)
Sony DW U14A (DVD Burner, Secondary IDE Master)
Sony CDU5211 (CD ROM, Secondary IDE Slave)
W2K w/ SP4

Prior to SP4 install ALL drives working.
Post SP4 Install:
Drives C: D: G: (Maxtor HDD's, SATA = two partitions),
no E: and F: (should be Sony Drives).
Sony drives show up as "Error 31" casualties.

Shut down, removed Sony drives, installed Creative
(Matsushita) CD ROM Drive, same result.
Problem is not with drives.

Sony drives connected to MoBo IDE controller w/
40 pin ATA cable. Worked prior to SP4 install.

Tried Sony CD ROM as Primary IDE Slave; No.

Help? Please? Someone?

Thank You.
