Lost appointments

All my appointments prior to Mar03 are suddently missing. No archive or auto-archive parameters were set and the last few years were definitely on there recently. This is quite serious for me. Any ideas why this might have happened - and can I ever rely on my Calendar retaining my records again?
 
Check your view settings -- make sure you haven't set a filter on your
Calendar folder that might be hiding older items. Or, switch to an
unfiltered view such as By Category and see if the items appear there.

Thanks for response. Have tried both suggestions but haven't retrieved old appointments. Oddly it showed me that two entries (one Dec02, the other Feb03 both remain!)

Are you *positive* you don't have any AutoArchiving set? Check the folder
itself -- right-click it, select Properties, then the AutoArchive tab.
