I have none of the Windows sounds. I have Win XP
Professional and when I installed it, I got the start up
music, if I plugged in a USB piece of hardware I got a
sound. etc. THe computer froze up and I had to do a HARD
BOOT. Since then NO SOUNDS. If I go into the sounds in
windows, they will play if I go into control panel/sounds
and then play them, but they will not play when they are
supposed to. SOund card wors fine as I can play music
etc. I went to the microsoft support area and there was
really no help on this subject. I guess it's not that
big of a thing, but it would be nice to have the sounds
back. Please E-mail me if you can be of assistance.
Thanks in advance................JIM

.
Start/ControlPanel/Sounds, Speech...../Change the sound
scheme/Sound scheme. Click the down arrow and look for
the Windows Default sounds, use them first and click
Apply & OK. After the default sounds work fine, you can
customize with your own sounds and give the new scheme a
name and save the settings.
