Lost all windows media

I recently lost windows media. It happened when I restored to the point
where I installed WMP 10. I tried to reload from the web site but I get the
following message;
This version of Windows Media Technologies is incompatible with this version
of Windows. For more information, view the information at the Microsoft web
site.
No Help otherwise

any thoughts
 
The same thing has happened to to me and I can't find anything on fixing it.
Have you had any luck correcting the problem?
