I tried the dreaded Windows System Restore and it worked. Whatever it was was a settings/software issue. has been fixed now.

I wouldnt say it was dreaded. Infact its a very clever feature

Helped many a person out of certain spots in the past
 
It bloody well isn't when HP stick their foot in it and make it overly complicated and bloated

I tried it and it buggered everything. Literally.
