lost all messages in windows mail

I use windows mail for vista, my laptop went dead the other day and when I
plugged it back in all my emails are gone, all inbox, outbox, everything. I
don't know if this is just a coincidence or why this has happened??? Is there
anything I can do, there were important contact emails I need for work,
should I use the WMUTIL program? Please help thanks.

Leave Windows Mail on for a few minutes and then see if there is a Recovered
Mail folder.
