Is there a way to change the computer name and change from a domain back to a
workgroup in windows registry???

When my computer was set up for a workgroup, I had admin rights. I changed
the computer name and changed it to a domain, and now I can no longer access
the computer as an adminstrator. I can only access it through a power user
account that didn't seem to change.

No.

This doesn't make any sense. If you were able to join the domain, you
must've done this with an account that had admin rights, and that account
should still be available with the same password you used then. What happens
when you try to use the built-in administrator account now?

You can also log in as domain admin (or equivalent) and grant your account
local admin rights - I presume this is now a domain login you wish to use,
right?

When I joined the domain I used a username and password for the domain but
that username and pasword does not have domain admin rights.
I do not have access to the built it admin account. I was using an admin
account that was created. It was a local admin account and had nothing to do
with the domain. I can still log into the domain but not as an admin.

Any suggestions??

to join a machine to the domain you MUST have an administator account or an
account that has been granted the right to add workstations to the domain

The built-in admin account, and your old account, are still on there....
I was using an

It was a local admin account and had
nothing to do with the domain.

You should still be able to log in using that account, then.

Right - you would need to log in as an account that has admin rights on the
computer and add your domain account to the local administrators group.
