Hello
I hope someone here can assist me on this, i have a stand
alone Win2k pro setup. I have admin rights in all the
accounts however when i try to do the device manager i get
the message "you do not have sufficient security
privileges" etc... i have full admin!! on 4 different
acounts. It seems i have been locked out for some reason. I
also tried the active directory users and computers, it
didnt work as i dont have an active directory there, its
disabled. Please advise, as this could be a total wipe and
start again :( .....
Thanks in advance

Hi

We have seen this with Intel Gigibit NIC card that were not installed
successfully.
Can you access the Device Manager in Safe Mode?

First see if you can do it in safe mode, and if you can it indicates a conflict with
a driver or start up program. You might want to try using secedit to reset security
settings to default defined levels as described in KB link below. If that does not
help try an upgrade install before doing a wipe install, but you will need to
reinstall service pack and critical updates at Windows Update. Always be sure to
disable antivirus whenever you install anything on your computer. -- Steve
