Received the message" . . . is not accessible. You might not have permission
to use this network resource * * * Not enough server storage is available to
process this command."

- Three PCs running Win XP Pro. Using Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router
with SpeedBooster, WRT54GS v7. No problems with network until after
uninstalling McAfee Security Center.
- Machines 1 and 3 can see machine 2, but cannot access shared files on
drive's hard drive. Machine 2 can access files on machines 1 and 3.
Machines 1 and 3 can still access files on external HD.
- The printer attached to machine 2 can still be used by machines 1 and 3.
- Have applied all suggested solutions including enabling/disabling simple
file sharing, checking/unchecking shared folders, enabling NetBIOS over
TCP/IP, disbling firewall, checking HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM . . . .
restrictanonymous . . .

Where do I go from here?

This error indicates that you are falling foul of the IRPStackSize bug. The
problem is on the machine you are attempting to connect to, not the machine
where you see the error message. On the computer you are attempting to
connect to, check the event viewer for an event ID 2011.

Usual fix : You need to fix a parameter called IRPStackSize

On the computer you are attempting to connect to, Set the IRPStackSize back
to the default (15 ). Perform the following steps:

1. Start regedit.
2. Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanserver\parameters.
3. Double-click IRPStackSize (or if this registry setting doesn't exist,
create it with type DWORD and ensure the case is correct).
4. Change the base to decimal, set the value to 15, and click OK.
5. Reboot the computer.

Norton AV is usual suspect for breaking it although it wouldn't surprise me
if McAfee breaks things too. There's a KB article about this, too:

Antivirus Software May Cause Event ID 2011 (Q177078) -

You are THE MAN, WOMAN, or CHILD!

Added IRPStackSize and binary value 15 as directed, restarted and cursed
when it didn't work. Reopened Registry and increased binary value to 15.

Unmitigated success!

Thanks form the bottom of the hearts of those who think I actually know what
I am doing.

Woman. You're welcome. I'm very glad that sorted it for you. Thanks for
taking the time to let me know.
