Lost ability to print to PDF format

I had funtionality until I did some recommended upgrades to Window XP. Now I have lost the ability to print
documents and web pages, etc. into Adobe PDF format. The jobs get to the printer spool with no size. To compound my problem I also then removed the PDFwriter driver. Any recommendations on how to get this fixed without buying a product?
Where would I get this particular driver that I think came bundled with XP?

I don't think a PDFWriter driver comes with Windows XP. Perhaps your PC
vendor added one before they sold you the PC.

There is a "free" PDFWriter available at http://www.pdf995.com/. It pops up
an ad each time you use the free version. I had some difficulty with the
free version. I paid the $9.95 to get the registration key and now I have no
problems with it.
