Loss of reds and pinks in presentations

Twice I've started a powerpoint presentation and found that the reds and pinks have disappeared when projected, althought they show on the computer screen. Last time, I closed the show and then, magically, the colors reappeared and showed on the screen. When the reds and pinks did not show, the yellows and greens were also awful looking. Any idea of what is going on (shows created on two different machines) and what I can do to make sure it does not happen again? Thanks.

Max,

This sounds like a dodgy cable / lose connection between your computer and the projector ( or the projector itself)

Projectors (and probably your cables) work on the RGB system (red green blue). It sounds like the red signal is not
getting through.

Try and isolate the problem. Try swapping out cables with known good ones...other projectors...other monitors etc

But it's happened in different places with different projectors and different cables. Other ideas?

Make sure your computer's not jumping into 256 color mode when projecting.
Hook up to the projector, check the presentation, hit ESC to close
presentation, right-click desktop and choose properties. Color settings are
in there somewhere.

Same Computer/Laptop?

If so then the connector on that computer has a problem.

Different computers. It's driving me crazy. The last time, when I took a break and got out of powerpoint, then it came back perfect. I don't understand, and I've got a big dog and pony show coming up and I'm i a panic. Other ideas?

Running out of options..... ;)

Same Graphics Card and Graphics Card Driver Software Version?
