Loss of private key?

I marked 3 folders with "Make tis folder private" on my data disk. I then had
to reinstall WinXP Pro on the system disk. I did a full new install (format
disk and full install). I use the same username as before. Now I have lost
access to the 3 folders I marked as "private".

Is there a way to recover these directories?

Thanks,
Fredrik

Take ownership of the files:

Why do you think there is a problem with private keys?? Did you enable EFS
encryption on those folders? They would be displayed in green if you did and
the advanced attributes would show the folder as encrypted. If none of that
is the case then Ms. Malke's solution should suffice. --- Steve
