I have 2 PC's connected to a broadband router. One running
Windows 2000 and the other XP. If the XP machine is
sitting idle, i.e. not being used to access the internet,
it loses its network connection to the internet and the
other PC, however, the Win2K PC can still access the
internet. Before the XP PC can establish a connection I
must disable and re-enable the connection.
I am a faults technician for a cable company and I am
required to resolve faults with regards to our cable modem
service. I have came across the same problem on our
customers PC's (only those running XP). I have a friend
running XP who hasn't had any problems of this kind.
Any suggestions as to what could cause this would be much
appreciated.
