Loss of CD & DVD Drives

A customer has lost her CD & DVD drives in "My Computer" not showing up at
all. They show in BIOS and in Device Manager except they have exclamation
points on them and properties say Driver is corrupt or missing. Trying to
update the driver it says the current driver is newer than the one trying to
be updated to. How can I get the drives back again?
