Loss of 3-Character Memory - Inability to Open .jpg files

Recently, a number of things have happened to my Outlook 2000. (1) my ability to type in 3 characters of a name and then have the entire address appear is gone. Each time I leave Outlook, it is wiped out. (2) I can no longer open attached .jpg files. I have to save them to my computer and open them outside of Outlook. (3) When I replay to most emails, the reply window sets up in plain text and not HTML. It also sets me up in multiple column format. Each time, I have to change it to HTML and reset the columns. Somehow this is tied to my Microsoft Word which also opens in a 3-column format. I've tried to globally change things in Word but it seems to only be a one-time change. I have to do this each time I produce a new Word document.

Somehow, I think that there are some corrupted files. I just don't know which ones or how to repair. Any Help? Thanks.

Actually I found Don Wilkerson's advice helpful

I went into my photo program (Paint Shop Pro) and restored the.jpg file to default to it
Then I went into Windows Explorer\Tools\Folder Options\File Types and restored my .jpg files to their "default settings" which is Paint Shop Pro

Everything works well now

Don if you see this, THANK YOU
