I was in the middle of replying to an email when I had to leave the computer
for awhile. When I return I tried to bring the computer out of hibernation
but couldn't so I had to reboot the computer. Once back up I lost everything
that I already typed in the reply. My question is twofold; First is there a
way to retrieve what I already typed and second how can I get my computer to
come out of hibernation without rebooting? WinXP

First - no - unless you had it autosaving/stroing on an exchange server/etc.

Second - yes - it should just wake up *if* you have all the proper drivers
and patches and such installed. *should*. All sorts of things could affect
that.

Windows XP what?
Should we assume Windows XP Professional x64 with SP2? *grin*

fact, there are six cookies referencing that. There should be a way to get
it back though the cookies shouldn't there?

No.

Save it in the drafts folder.

: Okay. How can I prevent this from happening again?

Did you reply to yourself?

Were you using a Web-Based email? If so - you are most certainly at a loss.
Your cookies aren't going to do anything for you.

You could either configure (if it has it) your web-based email to save
drafts for you or start using an email client that will do that for you
locally.

Be good if you pointed out more about your system (Windows XP what? Service
Pack what? What email client (if any) were you using? If no client
(web-mail) - what browser and what email service provider (or type)?)

Thanks

Okay, WinXP, SP3, using windows live account for emails, on wireless server
(Home), ect. What email client would you suggest?

Given your choice of email providers - that's actually pretty limited (in
comparison to other providers - anyway.) I am also assuming this is a free
account and not a pay Windows Live account.

The desktop client you can get *made* for your email provider does not seem
to have that functionality - although the work-around (using Word,
copy/paste) might work for you - it seems a poor excuse for a substitute to
me.

If you have Microsoft Outlook - you can use the Microsoft Outlook Connector
to then utilize your Microsoft Outlook to connect to your email.

There may be other third party 'web mail connectors' for programs like
Thunderbird, etc - but Windows Live Hotmail is a little more restrictive
about how you can actually get your email than gmail, yahoo, etc.

(I'm quite disappointed if the first link I gave is accurate and Windows
Live Mail Desktop does *not* have a automatic save to drafts feature! To
me - that is just good common sense.)
