Losing the date and time

Every time I switch my computer on, I have to correct the
date and time. Once on these remain accurate. Can you
help?
In response to advice in a previous posting I have
replaced the M/B battery but the problem persists.

Hi Stuart,

When you first boot, go into the system BIOS (before WinXP even starts), is
the time correct here?

When you put the new battery in, did you check that the terminals on the m/b
were clean?
If the battery had been allowed to run down, there might have been some
leakage which could cause corrosion.
