Losing the content of e mail

OK guys, I "think" I am using Outlook Express 6. I am def using Express OK.

Twice in a week now, new e mail is showing on my e mail preview window, but
if you click on it to see what you got, you see a message saying Outlook
Express did not download the msg. Click here. Click and nothing happens.

I did a search for self help reasons and it suggests the dbx file had
corrupted.

I've lived a week having cleaned out OE and THE one imprtant e mail
concerning whether I get kicked out of my home or not, has corrupted like the
ones from last week.

On a Friday night of all times...

My PC is approaching 5 yrs old abnd I strongly suspect the HD is beginning
to show signs of wear. Any experts at searching this area of the HD or op
system ?
