I am dual booting with XP so no chance of keeping system restore. I am
still mainly using XP. So after not having used Vista for 3 weeks I booted
into Vista and have lost my taskbar and side bar with my widgets. How do I
get them back. It happened the last time as well and used Acronis backup to
get back my settings. There has to be an easier way.
Any help please??

In all probability, the "start sidebar when windows starts" option isn't
selected. Hit the start button and type "sidebar in the start search
field. The top two items should be side par and sidebar properties.
Select the properties first and check the box to start with windows,
then do the same and click on sidebar. Your sidebar should be back.
