Having trouble with a PowerPoint presentation.

We are using tabs and tab stops for spacing, but after we exit the
presentation and re-open it, the tabs have disappeared…

Which version of PPT are you using?

If 2007, are you saving the file as 97-2003 format?

Sorry for the delay.

We are using 2007, but its an old presentation that is still being saved as
a 97-2003 file format.

Okay, that's what the problem is, then. PPT 2003 and prior file used the
same tab settings for all "paragraphs" in the textbox. PPT 2007 doesn't.
2003 doesn't know what to do with 2007 tabs. So when you save as 97-2003
format, you lose the tab settings.

If you set the tabs all the same in the paragraphs in the textbox in the
2007 file, it might transfer correctly to 2003.

Just know that someone opening the PPTX (2007 format) file in 2003 will
probably lose the tabs, even if they're not editing the file.
