Hi, have a recently built Asus A7V8X-X MB w/built in 5.1 SoundMax Audio
w/Athlon XP2400+.

Whenever the PC is rebooted, it loses the audio driver setting. The sound
doesn't work, says 'No Drivers installed for this device.'. I then
reinstall the drivers with 'Update Driver', pick from a list, select the
SoundMax driver that's already resident, hit OK, it installs, is
initialized and works fine, until the next reboot, then repeat.

Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance,

DS

Euan,

I installed the d/l'd drivers from Asus once. Upon each re-boot, I have
to re-install. I don't need to run the drivers setup again, just choose
the drivers when I do it via the 'Update Drivers' tab, 'Install from a
list or specified location','Don't search, I will choose the drivers to
install', and then the next box is the list of drivers already on the
computer that I can choose from. It just so happens that the only choice
are the drivers I already installed from Asus. AND, it copies them from
windows\system, AND, it only seems to copy one file.
