Losing site password recognition on page change

When I enter a web page from a favorites selection, I get logged in by my
password correctly and recognized even on a refresh. But when I try to
change pages, I lose password recognition and get logged out. I cannot log
back on with my user name/password. This occurs with IE7 and Firefox on
multiple sites.
Prior to problem I upgraded to IE7
I recently removed several video drivers via the control panel/system
I tried a restore but did not change the problem
Cookies are enabled in IE7 and Firefox, no restrictions
Is the registry damaged?

Hi,
Some steps to try...
Disable third-party security/privacy programs. One of them might be the
cause. Example: CCleaner caused cookie problems with IE7 a few months ago.
An update to CCleaner fixed this. The fact that both browsers are affected
points, in my opinion, to a third-party program.

*Important*
Turn on the Windows Firewall from Control Panel> Windows Firewall before
disabling a third-party firewall or security suite.

You may have an incompatible browser add-on.
