Losing Outlook Contacts when adding to a domain

I'm getting ready to add my computer to a new network, where it will join a
domain. Will I lose any of my Outlook contacts if I do this? Will I also
have to re-connect my IMAP email account on Outlook 2007, when I move my
computer to another network.

You shouldn't lose anything, but it may appear that way if Windows created a
new user profile for you. Make a backup of your Outlook data to be safe.
You may need to recreate the IMAP account, but since IMAP data is stored on
the server, you shouldn't lose anything there, either.

I think my Outlook Contacts are stored locally in a .PST file - and not on
an IMAP server. But, in any case, I'll try to prepare for any registry
changes when adding my computer to the new domain. Like, backing up my IE
favorites, etc.

IMAP servers can't contain any folders other than mail folders. I don't
believe I suggested they could. What I said was to make a copy of your
default PST, but not to worry about any IMAP PST because it will be
regenerated. You should, in fact, make a copy of everything under
%UserProfile% and place it in a folder that anyone using the PC can access.
If you have a network drive available to you, that's a good place to make
the copy, since it should be available to you after the addition to the
domain as well, if your file server admins are doing their jobs.

Alright, I think I got it straight now.

I should just make a copy of the .PST file for the corresponding Personal
Folders
(that store the Contacts) -- and back it up somewhere before proceeding with
this move. That makes sense to me.

But, I'm unable to confirm 100% in the Outlook 2007 whether the Contacts are
stored in the specific .PST file for the Personal Folders because I don't see
a specific folder for Contacts in the Outlook folder Tree View. Contacts
should be in the Personal Folders -- Right? (regardless of version of Outlook)

Yes, contacts are in the PST (unless you're using an Exchange mailbox).
Perhaps you're using the Mail view of the Navigation Pane. That view will
show only folders containing mail items. The Contacts view will show
Contact folders, as will the Folder List view.
