Losing Network Connection

I just linked two desktop computers running Windows XP using an 802.11b
wireless connection. The client (wireless computer) is able to access the
Internet on the host and by using the Wizard to "Set up a home or small
office network" I was able to get the client to be able to access the
printer and shared folders on the host. Then the next day (yesterday) the
"printer shared folders" connection failed and I was able to reestablish it
by using the Wizard again on the client. Today it has failed again and I
can't reestablish it.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Check the Advanced Tab on your Network Properties dialog
box and make sure that Internet Connection Firewall is
turned off.

Not sure if this is related, but when I had an issue with
losing my network connection due to my neighbors wireless
network being detected I witnessed similar behavior. I
would lose connectivity, re-establish it. Repeat a few
times. And then eventually I was unable to re-establish
at all. Had to restart the workstation. No problems once
I was restarted.

Ping the IP address of the station you are trying to
access and see if it responds or times out. If it times
out you need work on why. No ping no network.

Things that prevent pinging:
1. Bad network cable.
2. Bad or damaged NIC driver.
3. FIREWALLS.

Thanks Michael. My ZoneAlarm firewall had swithced the network from trusted
to internet. When I swithced it back the network is operating again. I
hope it holds.
