I've been using Movie maker to make videos before, but I just got a new
flash-camcorder and when I try to trim the clips, I lose my video and my
screen goes black -I still have audio though.
I have looked on this site and seen the suggestions about filters -I have
only two when I check my tools and compatibility -a video decoder and audio
decoder (ffdshow) - that I downloaded with the camcorder. I can turn both or
one of these on or off and it makes no difference.
Any thoughts on what to try next?

what type of video files are they? if you don't know, what's the brand and
model camcorder? they may not work with Movie Maker; if so, they would need
conversion before importing.

I was having the same problem also and how I fixed it was by importing the
original video into WMM and just publishing it. Then I imported the WMM file
and used that for editing.

I am using Windows Vista and my camcorder is a Memorex
