I have these contacts I create and when I go to use them, they are gone. I have this one contact I use constantly and then one day, I go in to use him and his information is gone. My IT person checked and I don't have any filters or weird views set. Why would my contacts just go away? I am using Outlook 2000.

Hard to say without knowing how you are creating these Contacts and where
they are stored. You've provided no details that would permit
troubleshooting.

I created the contacts in the Contacts view. I clicked on the New button and filled in the information needed. I then closed and saved the contact. I saw that there was a Private feature, but I don't know how to use it and really don't need to use it. I don't create the contacts anywhwere else

Are you creating these Contacts in the same folder in which you are trying
to view them? Provide more detail on just how and when these Contacts
"disappear." Are you using an Exchange mailbox or a Personal Folders File?

Are these Contacts disappearing from the Contacts Folder or your address
book? If the former, you have an Exchange issue. You need to ask in an
Exchange group or your Exchange administrator.
