losing connection

does anyone know why my internet connection keeps
disconnecting on me automatically. i'm using dsl and in my
access manager settings, i've set the idle disconnect to
never, yet it still disconnects after minutes, sumtimes
seconds after connecting.

I have the same problem with winxp pro latest updates,
and Alcatel external modem. I've disconnected every phone
from its socket, and am using special ADSL filters which
are plugged into the phone sockets.
Have you received any useful replies?
