Losing Connection

Hi:

Our server operates on Windows 2000. We have 6 users
connected to it. For the past week or so, some users would
lose connection. We've had to restart the server & reboot
our desktops to regain connection.

Please shed some light on the possible problems and
suggest a fix.

Thank you.

Please provide more information.

What is the OS of the client machines? What do you mean by losing
connection? To shares? To an application on the server? What happens when
they lose connection? What is the error when they try to reconnect? Any
errors in the event viewer on the server? Any services shut down or crash?
Any further information you can provide to describe your problem would be
very helpful.

OS of client machines - if this means the operating system
on the users' machines then it's Windows XP???

We actually lose connection to an Access application which
is our database.

I checked the Event Viewer & I got a whole series of items
in there. There are 3 categories: error :62, warning:
5781, info:10

thanks.

OS is the Operating System, thank you for your response.

You still are not giving me a whole lot to work with. What is the event ID
and source of those errors, what do they say? What happens when they try
to reconnect to the Access Database? What is the exact error they receive?
How often is this happening? Is there anything you have noticed that you do
around the same time the connection is lost?

Kristin:

The source of the error is "netlogon" & reads "dynamic
registration or deregistration of one or more dns records
failed because no dns servers are available". The event
viewer shows that the same error was recorded at 1:59am,
3:59am, 6am & 8am.

The problem occurs every morning when we come in. Once we
reboot, it does not happen again througout the day.

When we try to connect to the access database, no error
messages are displayed on the user's machine. It just
wont open the database.

I hope you can help. thanks.
