In March of the this year I purchased a HP a1730n Pavillion computer with
Windows Vista Premium and it has been great. In my area of the country (NE
Ohio) we have Time Warner Cable. I have Cable,Roadrunner for the computer and
Digital Phone that is also through cable. This past week when I turn on the
computer in the morning it boots up fine but I lose my phone connection and
have to reboot the cable modem to get my phone service back. The cable
company has replaced the modem twice and they say they have never heard of
this problem. I also went to Best Buy whehre I bought the computer and told
them the problem and they have never heard of it before and have no idea what
is causing the problem. This happens 90% of the time. I tried removing some
programs and also used restore but nothing has helped. Anybody has any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tom L,

I don't know of any way that your computer would interfere with the digital
phone. They use different frequencies as far as I know.

I had a problem with Time Warner and intermittant drops and it took a real
technician to diagnose the problem, and this took no less than 3 visits from
TW reps to figure out. In the end we had to place a powered signal booster
to strengthen the signal sufficiently.
