Losing access to shared network drives at 5pm?

Since I had such good luck the other day, time for another question. I have
just been informed that at @5pm on a daily basis, people are no longer able
to save to or see the server. All of my scans and backup happen after hours,
so I am not sure what would be causing this. There is no problem with
internet access.

Perhaps you restricted the login hours of your users?
 
Have you checked the event logs on the server to see if there are any clues
there? Any scheduled tasks running at that time?
