If I do a search on some internet sites from my laptop, click on one of the
results and then hit the back button, I get a page could not be found error.

The same does not occurr from my desktop computer and it doesn't happen at
all websites with search features.

What settings should I look for?
Any other ideas.

Hi,
Some things to look at:

Internet Options> Privacy> if you aren't allowing all cookies, make sure
that you're allowing cookies from those sites.

The HOSTS file can cause this problem with the back button. See:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm >>> "Strange behavior in the Back
Button"

You might disable (temporarily) third-party privacy, security, ad-blocker
programs to see if one of them is causing this.

Or, the workaround is to right-click (or Shift + click) a search result and
