lose internet conection when conecting printer

I am not able to use the interet when I have my printer
conected. It does not have to be in use, only to be
conected. The printers parelle port over-rides my
internet contection. Please help

That's a strange problem. It sounds like one of the logical resources is
shared between however you access the internet and the printer. This used to
be a common problem a long time ago (Windows 3.1 and DOS), but I'm surprised
to see an issue like this now. It would be useful to know more information.
How do you connect to the internet? Cable modem? DSL? Modem? What kind of
printer do you have? It sounds like the printer is connected via parallel
port. If the printer and your PC have USB ports, I would try using that
instead of parallel.
