Lose/flicker video when click on avi files

Hi.

I have Dell Precision 670 with graphic card Nvidia FX3400.
When I try to select, view properties or copy any ".avi" file, video flickers to black screen.

If I put hardware acceleration to "none", the problem does not occur, but I get the message "Nvidia display could not be loaded, please set acceleration to full".

I have tried reinstalling video driver (tried 10 different versions from NVidia), reinstalling DirectX, and WindowsMediaPlayer.

Can anyone please help?
