lop.com

My IE was hijacked by c.lop. I've fixed most of it but a
few things still need to be cleaned up.

On my desktop, there is a sneaky Icon which appears to be
the IE icon. It's name is "Explore Internet," showing the
same icon as the "Internet Explorer.

When I rt. click the on this EI icon, I see two tabs, just
as in on the legitimate IE shortcut: General and
Shortcut. The default opens to "Shortcut."

Below the IE icon on the shorcut tab, there are three
fields: Target Type, Target location, and Target.

On this icon|properties|shortcut, Target type
is "http://www.lop.com. Target location is Internet
Explorer and the target: (grayed out) is http://www.lop.com

What do I need to edit to remove the unwanted "Target
Type" and "Target?" In the true ie shortcut, these are
listed as "Target type: Application," "Target:"C:\Program
Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE"

I searched the registry for target types but couldn't find
anything. Can someone tell me where I might look.

I assume I can delete the fake icon (I haven't tried yet),
but I don't know if there will still be a "lop.com" Target
Type and a "lop.com" Target floating around the system.

Where is place that holds the Target type, Target
location, Target, for Icon properties? I thought it might
be in File Types under Folders Options, but they weren't
there.

Thank you.
Bob
