I have been unable to get rid of the Lop.com tool bar.
When I click on the cross to close it it frezes and
frezes my task bar! I have run Pest Patrol which does
not even detect it. Adaware usually detects it and does
a removal but it comes back! Microsoft antispyware does
not detect it by name but reports a Browser add on that
comes from this site. The Lop.com site has a download
uninstaller but it will not download with reasonable
security in place and how can you trust them if you
reduce your security (after all they have already done
nasty things to my computer!!).

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi

Try this:

- Download/Install CCleaner, www.ccleaner.com

- Download Winsockfix, just a precaution if you loose your LSP.

- Restart in safe mode, press F8 during reboot

- Run CCcleaner and remove all temporarily junk.

- Run Adaware

- Run MSAS

- Restart

Thanks for taking the time Ron. Robbie's suggestion
worked and I did not need to drop security to download
the uninstaller.
