I recently upgraded from a AMD Duron 1.3GHz CPU to a AMD
AthlonXP2400+. When I reset the CPU frequency from 100MHz
(for the Duron's 200MHz FSB) to the Athlon's 133MHz
(266MHz FSB)and then reboot, WindowsXP gets as far as the
loading splash screen then restarts the computer. This
continues until I switch off with the main power button
and enter the BIOS to reset the CPU frequency to 100 MHz.
This leaves my Athlon running as an AthlonXP1800+. How
can I get WindowsXP to boot at a CPU frequency of 133MHz?

LOL,

I guess Alvin thinks the guy's mum needs to be properly rooted?

The HAL is probably corrupted. A fresh install is warranted.
Is your m/b on the AMD approved list for this processor?
