When turning on my computer with XP it tells me I have a
windows problem and gives me 5 options to open. Three
options have a safe mode involved, one to do with the
systems, and one for normal operations. Regardless which
mode I select, it loops back and restarts. I've tried to
open with a boot disk, ran Norton Antivirus from the
Norton Systems 2003 software, and the Windows XP disk that
came with the computer. Nothing seems to work. Norton's
said there is no virus. Is there anything I can do
besides a recovery?

I just got the samee thing this morning. You may have a
added new software or hardware or pushed the reset while
you where locked up. Or the sofeware you put in went on a
bad sector. Or other things may have happened.
1.Restart your computer with the XP disk or CD.( if you
have a CD and you are not setup to BOOT off of CD you
must go to the Bois and setup for CD if you have CD)Then
restart with CD. If you added any heardware ( in say, USB
port remove them all and other USB devices.
2.run chdk (check disk )to repair your disk .( here when
done checking you have 3 seconds to hit any key to to
continue.
3.Try start ( normal) again after you follow all the
instructions.
E-mail me if you need more info.
