I use UDP port-to-port broadcasts quite a lot. Sometimes the receiving port
is on the same PC.
Took my laptop out yesterday to demo two of my apps (on my laptop)
communicating only to find that, because I wasn't plugged into a network,
they weren't.
I can get it to work if I take a little hub with me and plug the PC into
that, but that requires a mains connection. I tried making a physical
loop-back by looping pins 1 & 2 to 3 and 6 respectively on an RJ45 plug,
but, although the PC dropped the warning that I was disconnected, there was
no comms.
Anyone know whether it is possible to force things to work with no network
connection??
Many thanks,
Denville.
