[Christoffer Andersson] Yes Loopback Processing of Group Policy applice to
Windows XP as well.
The white paper listed in a thread here says you have to have Win2K
server and clients...

I want to have roaming profile with redirection, without
synchronization if I am not at my "base" computer.

I want synchronization on when I'm at my computer at my deks, but if I
go somewhere, I want it turned off.

Any ideas how to do this?

[Christoffer Andersson] You may can Define User Configuration\Administrative
Templates\Network\Offline Files\Do not automatically make redirected folders
available offline. And place your "base" Computer within a OU can use
Loopback Processing of Group Policy for the particular Policy

Chris,

So, I have to create an OU with just my computer? So, everyone wh
wants this featue will need their own OU?

Sorry, maybe I don't fully understand

Chris,

With more thought, I'm even more confused by your suggestion, because
*do* want synchronization only on my machine. Won't what you sugges
turn sychronization off only on my machine?

We already have synch off for anywhere I roam. I only want it on at m
machine. This is so when I compile programs they compile faster on m
machine because the file is local.
