What that means is that you must have WIN2000 AD ( server
side ) in order to make use of GPO in the first place and
that GPOs apply to only WIN2000 and WINXP clients (
meaning, no WINNT 4, WIN9x clients ).

The mode means nothing. You can have it in Mixed Mode and
NOT have any WINNT 4 BDCs and it will work...
