Hi

I am using PowerPoint 2003 and I have a slide with four animations that each
start after the previous one has ended. What I want to do is to have
animations 1 to 4 play, and then loop back to 1 and start again. I've
noticed the repeat function under the "effect options" timing tab, but this
will repeat anmiation 1 before starting on 2 through 4. I want all four
animations to play before it starts back at 1.

Can this be done without having to recreate animations 1-4 multiple times?

Thanks for any help you may be able to give.

This isn't easy. One way you can try out:
Click Slide Show > Custom Shows.
Create a new custom show and add the animated slide into the custom show.
Close custom show.
Click Slide Show > Slide Transition.
Under Advance Slide, put a checkmark to "Automatically After".
Click Slide Show > Set Up Show.
Under Show options, put a checkmark to "Loop continuously until 'Esc'".
Click Ok.

Now, add a menu slide just before the animated slide.
Create an action button and have the action button hyperlinks to the Custom
Show.
Put a checkmark to "Show and return" if you want to return to the menu slide.
